Content Management Systems (CMS) refer to dynamic websites which offer the user the ability to modify the pages and information being shown. For good reason these have become incredibly popular and place control in the website owner's hands - the ability to update the website whenever they wish, without having to rely on their web developer or anyone else (and no need to pay any update charges).

However, one element where content management systems may fall down is the search engine stakes. Although search engines still successfully index dynamic CMS websites, they do not seem to place the same importance to dynamic websites when it comes to search engine results. This is not true of properly designed and configured SEO friendly content management systems, which can mimics a html website and give the search engines the information they need to give you the placing in the search engine results that you want.
